The Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 video game may miss its November deadline as Vince McMahon is going back and forth about whether to leave Chris Benoit in the game. The designers haven't completely removed Benoit from the game yet and Vince wants him out obviously. However, if they remove him, it would require the game to be delayed and they'd miss out on the 2007 holiday season revenue, which is always the most lucrative quarter for video games.

No More Cyber Sunday in 2008?

Posted by The Wrestling Guru | 4:28 AM | , | 0 comments »

There has been lots of talk of another WWE PPV being axed in 2008, likely Cyber Sunday. Instead of doing it as a PPV, they might switch it to another special three-hour Raw with the same concept.

All i can say is why did they start doing 15 PPV's a year in the first place? It's not like people are buying them if you seen the latest buyrate numbers.

Can I have just 1 PPV a month please?

ECW on Sci-Fi Results August 28, 2007

OPENER:

They opened the show with still ECW champion John Morrison coming out to the ring. They used a nice still-shot of Morrison grazing his feet on the ropes against C.M. Punk at Summerslam to retain the title. Morrison asked the crowd if they can feel it. He cut a poem about creating a new reality for Punk that he is the guru of greatness, the Tuesday night delight, and the ECW champion. Morrison said he accepts all realities thrown in his direction, then he talked about the fatal four-way #1 Contender match tonight. They showed Boogeyman on the screen and Morrison ran him down. Miz was shown next to a round of boos. Morrison smirked, then ran him down for performing acts on himself in the shower. They showed Big Daddy V to some oos and aahs. Morrison said let's just hope he doesn't win tonight. Punk flashed on the screen to a brief cheer. Morrison asked how many times he has to beat Punk before he goes away. Morrison said Punk doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs, and doesn't win championships. He said Punk took his eye on the ball at Summerslam and he will never defeat him for the ECW Title. Morrison said none of those four are enlightened enough to defeat him. Morrison held his belt in the air to close the segment.

[Commercial Break]

Kevin Thorn came out and they recapped last week when Thorn and Stevie Richards brawled backstage. Richards then came out for another match with Thorn.

1 -- KEVIN THORN vs. STEVIE RICHARDS

Thorn pounded on Richards early on, and Richards kept asking for more, so Thorn granted the request. Thorn chucked Richards across the ring before driving him into the corner and landing hard elbow smashes. He then kicked Richards hard in the face and choked him across the top turnbuckle.

[Q2]

Thorn followed Richards on the outside and continued to work on the throat area. Thorn re-started the ref's count before driving Richards back-first into the guardrail. Back in the ring, Thorn landed consecutive clotheslines to the throat. Richards didn't show much life, and Thorn continued to knock him down with clotheslines. Richards escaped a crucifix bomb, but walked into another clothesline to the throat. Thorn jerked Richards around and kept screaming at him to show him something. Richards suddenly hit a double-knee jaw breaker and roundhouse kicks for a nearfall. He had a nearfall following a roll-up, but Thorn caught him in center-ring with a torture rack backbreaker. Thorn then took Richards to a horizontal position across the top turnbuckle and hit the Original Sin crusher for the pin and the win.

WINNER: Thorn in 6:00. A step up from their previous encounters because it carried the tune of a personal feud. More than just spot a, spot b, comeback, nearfall - this had more of a real fight feel to it. Thorn showed something new that's been missing, although the crowd didn't get into the match. (*1/4)

[Commercial Break]

They aired a horror-flick video package on The Boogeyman. Some old school stuff with Boogeyman dumping worms on Sharmell, Jillian Hall, and JBL.

Backstage, Extreme Expose was hanging on Miz. Balls Mahoney then walked in and Miz said he was shocked by Balls winning last week. Miz, who looked slightly over-cooked, wanted to know if Balls's victory last week was a fluke or not, so he would be watching his match. Brooke and Leyla had a good laugh at Balls's expense, but Kelly Kelly hung around to tell Balls good luck tonight. Apparently Miz has booking influence these days.

On the other side of town, John Morrison talked to Armando Estrada about being comfortable when watching the #1 Contender match. C.M. Punk then walked in and dined on Morrison's catering, much to Armando's chagrin. Morrison said he knows why Punk is here: to beg for another title shot. Punk said he's here to earn another title shot and he won't have to put his feet on the ropes to do it. Morrison said a win's a win. Punk feigned hitting Morrison, who flinched. Punk laughed and asked Morrison what he's going to do. Punk took a bite out of some cantaloupe, then left. Morrison and Armando shared mad face looks.

[Commercial Break]

[Q3]

The Miz came out with Extreme Expose. He led the ladies to the announce area to have a seat and watch Balls's match. Elijah Burke then came out for the re-match with Balls.

2 -- BALLS MAHONEY vs. ELIJAH BURKE

Burke came out as the aggressor before Balls came back with successive scoop slams and a clothesline. Kelly stood up and cheered for Balls, who cracked a smile. Burke took advantage of Balls's distraction and kicked him in the face to take control. The fans chanted, "Let's go Balls" while Miz, Brooke, and Leyla had a good laugh at Balls's misfortune. Burke landed the flying handstand elbow in the corner, then sat down on a neck vice. Burke started landing jabs in the corner before Balls avoided a corner clothesline and rolled up Burke for a nearfall. Burke came back with a short-arm clothesline, though, and sat down on a chinlock. Balls escaped and hit a suplex before landing the Balls punches. He then hit the Nutcracker Suite for a nearfall when Burke got his foot on the bottom rope. They battled up top and Burke executed a big superplex before lowering the knee pads for the Elijah Express in the corner. Burke then made the cover for the win.

Afterward, Kelly was dejected while Miz gloated. Miz took the mic and announced Balls as the loser before leaving with Brooke and Leyla on his arms. Meanwhile, Kelly slipped into the ring and checked on Balls. After about 15 seconds, she was done checking on him, then she left the ring. She stopped halfway down the entrance ramp, then turned and waved at him near tears. Balls pulled himself up to the ropes to make eye contact with Kelly, who tried to hide her disappointment.

WINNER: Burke in 6:00. Match was stuck in first-gear. Burke gets a much-needed win, although they didn't exactly highlight him in victory. Good progress with the Balls-Kelly storyline. (3/4*)

[Commercial Break]

[Q4]
Miz was back in the ring for the main event. C.M. Punk then came out second. Big Daddy V followed out. Time for another break before Boogeyman's entrance.

[Commercial Break]

Boogeyman did his entrance, then everyone tried to gang up on Viscera before the bell rang.

3 -- C.M. PUNK vs. THE MIZ vs. BIG DADDY V (w/Matt Striker) vs. THE BOOGEYMAN -- #1 Contender match

Viscera fought them all off before whipping Punk into Miz and creating a double stack in the corner. Punk took the worst of it and slumped to the corner. Miz then walked into a lift-up slam and Viscera pounded his chest. Boogeyman then re-entered and danced around Viscera before Miz tripped Boogeyman and dragged him to the floor. Punk went for a cross body splash on Viscera, but Viscera tossed him over the top rope to the ground. The action spilled to the floor and Viscera pounded Miz across the chest. Same for Punk. He then went for a charging splash, but Miz and Punk moved, causing Viscera to spill over the guardrail to the floor. Back in the ring, Miz cleared Boogeyman to the outside for a while before smashing Punk in the corner with a flying boot for a nearfall.

[Q5 -- over-run]

Punk fired back on Miz with a combo of kicks to the head before missing with a leg drop off the ropes. Miz sat down on a neck vice in center ring, then the crowd rallied for Punk, who came back with a powerslam. Both men recovered on the mat, then Punk nailed a high knee in the corner and a bulldog in center ring. Punk hit a springboard clothesline on Miz for a nearfall, then he went for the Go 2 Sleep and connected. Punk then covered Miz for the win.

After the match, Viscera grabbed Boogeyman and slammed him on the floor. Punk then left the ring while Viscera returned to the ring a little too late. Styles and Tazz talked about Morrison's worst nightmare continuing with Punk coming back for more after earning another opportunity at the belt. Punk celebrated with the fans ringside while Viscera stared at him from inside the ring.

WINNER: Punk in 8:00 to earn another ECW title shot. Helter-skelter early on, then things slowed down for the Punk vs. Miz portion of the match. Fans were subdued probably in anticipation of Boogeyman or Viscera returning to the match at some point, but they booked four good minutes of Punk vs. Miz as a mini-test-run for a program down the line. In the end, Punk's chase continues. (*1/2)

Angle picked her up and carried her back to the stage. He backed up into Abyss and they began fighting. Abyss had Sting and Angle for a double chokeslam, but Abyss decided to let Sting go. Abyss had Angle set up for a powerslam, but Angle escaped. He hit an Olympic Slam. He went for the Ankle Lock but Abyss escaped and hit the Black Hole Slam for a three count. After the match, Abyss retrieved a bag of something from under the ring. Jim Mitchell comes out and Abyss sees him, then chases Mitchell to the back. The following is an excerpt from an article on CBS Sportsline: Former WWE champion Brock Lesnar, known to wrestling fans as "The Next Big Thing," followed through on his promise to attend UFC 74. Lesnar said that he wanted to see Couture up close and in person, but that was not the only reason Lesnar was in attendance. Lesnar met with White, who was very confident after his meeting with Lesnar. "I am pretty much going to guarantee you right here that UFC will get him," said White. "Lesnar should have started with us, but we'll be happy to have him." Lesnar made his mixed martial arts debut at a show co-promoted by EliteXC and K-1, defeating Min Soo Kim in Los Angeles on June 2. When might the former collegiate All-American start with the UFC? "We are all booked up through 2007, but we would like to have him start after the new year," White said.

The Undertaker will facing a slew of large opponents when he returns to the ring this fall.

He's scheduled to make his return at the Unforgiven pay-per-view. He will be facing Mark Henry. Taker will probably be the one to put Henry out of action for good in the storylines as Henry is likely finishing up with WWE when his contract expires in a few weeks.

In a return feud from about 12 years ago, Undertaker will be facing Big Daddy V (or King Mable 12 years ago). Plans have been made to build Big Daddy V up as a monster in ECW, then move him to SmackDown sometime in the fall to feud with the top babyface talents of the brand -- including Undertaker.

'Taker is also scheduled to feud with The Great Khali again. For more info on the Undertaker's Past feuds i suggest getting WWE Tombstone: The History of The Undertaker

WWE expects to spend $15 million to $20 million over the next year or two in converting its television studio for High-Definition production. They also expect to spend another $40 million to $60 million in expanding the television production facility.

TNA has secured a two hour time slot with Spike TV, but the network has given the promotion a condition - the wrestling company must purchase High-Definition equipment, as Spike TV will be upgrading to HD broadcasting by 2009.

TNA is apparently putting up resistance to the condition as the current contract is set to expire at the end of September. Spike TV has previously provided funding to TNA, such as contributing money to bring Sting to TNA, but the cable network hasn’t been open to providing addition financing for the purchase of HD equipment for the promotion.

How Much Do TNA Wrestlers Get Paid?

Posted by The Wrestling Guru | 1:34 AM | , | 27 comments »

Many of the talent working within TNA at this time are located in various parts of Florida and only the wrestlers involved in major storylines are being flown out. Previously, TNA would book many of their talents that were out of state and then throw them into something to compensate for flying them out. This could range from anything from a quick backstage promo or a match taped for "TNA Today". It appears TNA is now planning ahead a little bit more now and are really watching their nickels and dimes. This would explain the recent roster cuts although Jerry Lynn asked for his release from the company.

Here is a fun fact for the smart marks out there. While many believe that the big names that come into TNA start out with ballooned salaries would be shocked to find out that it is not so in many cases. Many of the "big name" talent start off at the minimum wage pay of the standard contracted TNA Wrestler which is $500 an appearance. After they "earn their stripes" it is at that time they start to make the money they come to expect being a "big name" for the company. The known pay grades among the TNA talent ranges from $200 for local talent that were used for squash matches, $500 per appearance for the new TNA Contracted wrestlers and then the next tier of pay is $750 an appearance. This is what most of the wrestlers that have been with the company for over a year are bumped up to. It should be noted as well that the standard TNA contracted wrestler is only guaranteed 26 appearances. So for those doing the math, the first year you are guaranteed $13,000/year and in your second year you can almost expect to be making $19,500/year not including outside bookings or "house show" contracts.

Current plans call for the Mr. McMahon paternity angle to lead to a WrestleMania 24 main-event match between Triple H and Mr. Kennedy. At last word, the plan was for WWE to continue slowly dropping hints that Kennedy is the illegitimate child before finally revealing his identity during a three-hour Raw special in October.

Stephanie McMahon will be returning to television on a full time basis in the near future -- likely in October or November. She will be returning because her status as her father's heiress will become threatened due to Kennedy. Triple H would reveal his real-life marriage to Stephanie, thus disclosing that he is Vince's son-in-law. This would set the stage for the Raw main event at WrestleMania, which at last word is going to be Triple H as a babyface vs. Kennedy, likely for the title and with all the members of the McMahon family somehow involved. Shane McMahon has been told he won't be needed in the ring until around Royal Rumble, so he'll probably be Kennedy's first family victim.

USA Network executive Bonnie Hammer is said to be very satisfied with the angle. She is the one behind the idea of a three-hour Raw special in October.

Furthermore, WWE has a contingency plan in case the storyline bombs with the audience. It would be revealed that Kennedy faked the lab results in order to gain access to McMahon's money.

Vince starts to say that everyone answers to him, at that minute Triple H makes his way to the ring to a huge ovation, Vince snaps at HHH and Trips says “is that the welcome back I get after all this time?!”, Triple H says that in his time off he searched high and low and now on Vince’s “75th” birthday Trips is going to reveal to him 4 women that could be the mother of Vince’s child! (3) Maria vs. Beth Phoenix
Phoenix attacks Maria on her way to the ring, taking her out before the match ever starts. Maria is wearing tight spandex pants revealing her tight ass. SO HOT, pics below.

- Vince is talking with Coach backstage, Vince says he believes the woman will tell him who his son is before the 2 weeks are up, maybe even by next weeks Raw. William Regal walks in and tells Vince he has to tell him something, Regal goes on to inform Vince that the entire McMahon family will be on Raw next week to confront Vince…and they will be bringing their attorneys!

(4) King Booker w/ Queen Sharmell vs. WWE Champion John Cena
Cena goes for an STUF early but Booker manages to escape, King Booker is dominating Cena, match goes back and forth, Booker continues to have the advantage, Cena finally fires back up on Booker, Randy Orton attacks Cena from behind giving him the DQ win, Booker and Orton double team Cena, Booker hits the Scissors Kick and leaves Orton to pick up the pieces, Orton sets up Cena for the punt kick but instead changes his mind and leaves the ring, he grabs Orton’s dad at ringside and pulls him over the crowd barrier Orton then gives Cena’s dad a hard punt kick before leaving up the ramp. Cena and the paramedics attend to hid Dad as Raw goes off the air

If any of you watched Summerslam last night you witnessed the return of Triple H. as well as the defeat of King Booker (honestly who didn’t see this coming?) but before booker got Pedigreed Triple H did something very interesting. He gave King Booker a crotch chop (you could say he told booker to suck it…no matter how gay it is).

You could say he was playing to the crowd since this was his huge return after all but remember, Shawn Michaels will also be retuning within the next few months so their is a possibly that DX could return. But with the upcoming McMahon/Kennedy/Triple H feud going into Wrestlemania it’s unlikely that D-Generation X will be back any time soon.

But anything can happen in the WWE. (somebody shoot me)

Also for more info on the most recent carnation of D-Generation X you can always buy
The New and Improved DX DVD.

King Booker just signed a new 3 year deal with the WWE, but that’s not the best part King booker signed the Contact under one condition… he gets to sit in on the WWE creative teams meetings. This just speculation but the rumor is that since King Booker is going to be working with Triple H on RAW, and since Triple H plays a large part in booking with the creative team. King Booker wants to make sure he’s not buried and jobbed out and put on the mid-card again.

But that’s not the only thing King Booker also wanted his Wrestling School To Become WWE’s New developmental territory he reportedly spend thousands on new equipment and a warehouse, Undertaker and Steve Williams were close to the School as well.

Why didn’t it happen? John Lauranitis. Haven’t heard of him? Don’t worry neither has the rest of the world. Yet WWE put this Clown in charge of talent relations despite having no talent himself. And what did he do you ask? He put one his own buddies, Steven Keirn, in charge of a wrestling school (Florida Championship Wrestling) despite Steve Kern having no experience at all.

Also despite Florida Championship Wrestling being a complete disaster (it just got air conditioning this month!), John continues to rave about Steve Keirn to Stephanie and Vince McMahon.

Why did John do this you ask? He did because he likes to party in Tampa, Florida.

When TNA debuted on Spike TV in October 2006 we all had high hopes for the up and coming company, finally there was someone for the WWE to compete with (or at least steal story lines). Sadly that’s not that case since October 2006 TNA has not improved all they do is scoop up dozens of WCW and WWE rejects and for what, the 1.2 rating they get every week? Or is it so that they hope some wrestling fan is going to stop on TNA impact! One night and spot a WWE or WCW reject and say, “hey I remember that guy”.

1. TNA Thinks Decrypt Old Fucks Brings In Money and Ratings

News Flash TNA that is Not Happening. The fact is nobody could give two shits about Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, or Sting or TNA would be getting higher ratings and not 1.1’s or more accurately .8’s. Try originality I hear it’s great.

2. Mike Tenay And Don West Screaming Threw The Whole Show

` These guy are the most annoying Duo I’ve ever heard commentate a wrestling event even more so than Joey Styles and Michael Cole. I think these guys are unbearable on the mic Don West is Screaming the whole time and Mike Tenay tries to explain everything happening even when there nothing going the fuck on. TNA needs new commentators really bad.

3. Low Production Values

If any of you have ever watch TNA you Know that the Product looks like an old Shitty WCW show from 1993 when it was produced on that Disney sound stage. Every thing is wrong wit the TNA set up from the crappy lighting to the circuit green lasers. But what really gets to me is the disgusting looking backstage set up you’d think with their financial backing from Panda the would able to fix up the backstage area.

4. The Theme Songs And Entrance Music

All I can say is who composes that crap? The Music sounds like cat getting raped by a dog (I know I exaggerate but it still sucks).

5. The Matches, Finishes, And Booking

Do TNA Matches have rules? Because I don’t seem to recall that when there is interference in a match there’s no DQ. Also who the fuck booked Kurt Angle to win all the titles? And why is there always in interference in main event Impact! Matches?

These are the top Reasons why TNA still sucks, so I suggest is don’t watch that crap until they get the Message…for now TNA sucks.

Another rumor that’s going around these days is that USA Network’s Bonnie Hammer Wants more Attitude era stars like Stone Cold, Mick Foley, and the Undertaker to appear on WWE RAW more often so the USA Network Can get the Rating s they used to get in the late 90’s to 2001.

This is also one of the reason Mick Foley’s useless ass has been on T.V lately. It’s also why Stone Cold is starting to pop up.

All I have to say is good luck finding attitude era stars that aren’t on drugs, dead, or really fucking old.

Mick Foley Want's a Paycheck

Mick kisses ass

So rumor has it that Mick Foley wants a more Prominent role on the WWE RAW brand but Vice McMahon and Triple H think that he doesn’t click with the fans anymore.

They’re right nobody gives a fuck about Mick Foley anymore all he does is show up and plug his retarded “tell all” books that nobody gives a shit about. He wears the same dirty looking outfit to every show. How does he expect anyone to take him seriously?

So Mick you want to return RAW, that’s fine but the question I ask Mick is, what the fuck would you do in the WWE? You been GM of RAW, You can’t wrestle anymore, you don’t have anymore stupid books to plug so tell us Mick just what the fuck were you planning to do?

Apparently he'll do anything for money now so guys do us all a favor buy one of his books and keep this guy off T.V.
